Bluestack Way App
The Bluestack Way is a spectacular 51km route through a true wilderness area of County Donegal in the north west of Ireland with great views as it traverses the Bluestack Mountains, a range of low rounded hills. It connects Donegal town with the town of Ardara on the west coast.
A new app has been launched which will guide tourists and local ramblers alike from The Diamond, Donegal Town to The Diamond, Ardara. This technology is so advanced it has been described by navigatour.ie as ‘ the most comprehensive walking app of its kind anywhere in the world.’ The six guides available within the app encompass every aspect of the area from history to geology, poetry to placenames, anecdotes and memories.
This is innovative app which can be downloaded for free and would great for those walkers and ramblers with a keen interest in local history and legend. Available for iPhone and Android the app has been developed by Headland New Media.
The app uses a GPS tracking system to ascertain the exact location of the user and guides them along the route to their destination. As the user travels along the route, the app provides them with information which is largely based on local forklore and mythology.
